Assessment of Landscape & Visual Effects

Location: Mount Wellington, Auckland

Client: Kiwi Income Property Trust

Four proposed office buildings are located along the western boundary of Sylvia Park, parallel to Mt Wellington Highway. Resource consent has been granted to the first two buildings (A & B), both will be built within their permitted height limit of 24m. A further two buildings (C & D), which are 31m and 29.6m high respectively, are the focus of this Landscape Assessment.

Hudson Associates prepared a comprehensive assessment to address the landscape and visual effects of proposed buildings C & D.  A review of the existing landscape character, zoning provisions, visibility, use of visual simulations and analysis of road user patterns all contributed to the assessment. The report is currently with the Auckland City Council for consideration as part of the resource consent application.
