Hudson Associates was initially engaged to prepare and present expert evidence at the Transmission Gully Motorway Designation hearing in 1998.

Following granting of the designation, Hudson Associates assisted in the preparation of the Landscape Management Plan for the pre-construction planting of catchment areas along the route. Implementation of this Management Plan has seen the design of mitigation planting for 11 catchment areas, and planting of over 200,000 plants over an eight year period. A high success rate has been achieved, with large areas of native revegetation now established in defined catchment areas along the route.
